Setting up a TrunkCall expert profile is straightforward. The friction is not in the signup — it is in the choices you make about how to present yourself, what to charge, and how available to be. The decisions below are the difference between zero bookings and a busy first week.
Step 1: Sign up and verify
Download the TrunkCall app or sign up on the web. Verify your phone, add your name, and pick a Trunk ID — your unique handle that becomes your shareable profile URL.
Pick a Trunk ID that is short, memorable, and matches what you already use on social — `@yourname` is usually best. Avoid numbers and underscores; they hurt search results.
Step 2: Write a bio that answers one question
Buyers skim. Your bio has one job: answer "what specifically can this person help me with?" Use this template:
A weak bio: "I am a chartered accountant with 12 years of experience." A strong bio: "I help salaried tech employees in India file ITR-2 with RSU/ESOP income. CA since 2012, 800+ filings done. Book me for: ITR review, capital gains questions, foreign asset disclosure."
Step 3: Set pricing across three tiers
Always offer:
- A per-minute rate for instant calls (Rs 5–25/min depending on niche).
- A 30-min scheduled session at a flat fee.
- A 60-min scheduled session at less-than-2x the 30-min rate, to reward the upgrade.
Optional fourth: a webinar or group session at a low ticket price to drive top-of-funnel discovery.
Step 4: Set realistic availability
The platform punishes no-shows and slow responses harder than it punishes low rating. Better to be online for 90 minutes a day at the same time than be vaguely available all day. Most successful experts go online for 60–120 minutes during the time slots their buyers tend to be free — lunch breaks, evenings, weekends.
Step 5: Get your first 5 ratings fast
Search ranking depends heavily on having reviews. The fastest way to get the first five:
- Run a launch promo at 50% off for the first three days. Mention "founding price" in the booking note.
- Share your profile in two communities where your buyers already hang out.
- Ask each early caller to leave a review at the end. Most do if asked.
After 5 ratings, raise prices to your target. After 25 ratings, raise again. Reviews are the leverage.

Is there a verification process?
For most categories, just phone verification. For regulated fields (CA, lawyer, doctor) you upload your registration number or council ID, which is verified within 24 hours and shown as a badge on your profile.
Can I edit my Trunk ID later?
Once chosen, the Trunk ID is permanent — it lives in URLs and on shared cards. Your display name and bio can be edited anytime.
How does the 13% commission work?
TrunkCall takes 13% of each transaction. If you join in the Founding Experts phase, the platform refunds that 13% as a bonus for the first year, so you effectively keep 100%.
Can I unlist myself temporarily?
Yes. You can pause your profile from the dashboard at any time. Existing scheduled bookings still go through.
Do I need professional video equipment?
